About Crete
If you're looking for a holiday full of fun, warmth, hospitality and vitality, then look no further than Crete.   The largest and southernmost of the Greek islands it is perhaps the most beautiful with its spectacular mountain ranges, deep gorges, palm-tree forest and dazzling beaches.
The spirit of Crete is reflected, above all, in the traditional hospitality of its people with their infectious love of life and enjoyment of simple pleasures.
Crete has everything you could want from a Greek island and more:  If you’ve holidayed in Crete before you’ll know about the beautiful beaches, clear blue sea, the rugged  mountains, the archaeological sites, excellent food etc.
Probably more memorable than anything are the welcoming, hospitable Cretan people.
If you haven’t been before then there’s a treat in store and you might well join the many other people who return to this fabulous island year after year.
Climate
Temperatures are in degrees Celsius and are average temperatures. Maximum temperature sometimes exceeds 40 C.
The climate is temperate Mediterranean; mild in winter, warm in spring and autumn and long, dry summers.
For those prepared to risk the occasional rainy day spring and autumn are excellent times to visit.  They’re good times for walking and April and May are particularly attractive as there’s an abundance of wild flowers following the winter rains and rising temperatures.
The main summer months are hot with temperatures often in the mid to high thirties and occasionally rising into the low forties.
